Anvil Knitwear was a sponsor of Farm Aid 2011 whose mission is to build a vibrant family farm-centered system of agriculture in America. The concert, held last weekend on Saturday, August 13, featured six exclusive Farm Aid designs on Anvil Knitwear T-shirts featuring Texas cotton from organic and transitional growers.

This year's concert in Kansas City, Kan., at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park, featured Farm Aid t-shirts with Anvil's Shirt Scan technology that allowed concertgoers to view exclusive Farm Aid content, including documentary footage of Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp and Dave Matthews.

Abercrombie to 'Jersey Shore': Ditch Our Brand

Mike "the Situation" Sorrentino may have to find some new attire for his "gym, tan, laundry" routine.

Clothing retailer Abercrombie & Fitch said it would offer "substantial payment" to MTV's The Jersey Shore's cast members to stop wearing the brand on air.

"We are deeply concerned that Mr. Sorrentino's association with our brand could cause significant damage to our image. We understand that the show is for entertainment purposes, but believe this association is contrary to the aspirational nature of our brand, and may be distressing to many of our fans," an Abercrombie & Fitch spokesperson said in a statement.

U.S. Congress Introduces Textile Bills

In an effort to bolster U.S. textiles and apparels, the U.S. Congress will take up three measures introduced to solve pressing problems that hamper industry growth.

The American Textile Technology Innovation and Research for Exportation (ATTIRE) Act (H.R. 2275) would create a $5 million competitive grant program at the U.S. Department of Commerce to fund textile research and innovation and boost exports. Colleges, universities and not-for-profit research institutes would be eligible for grants that will bring a stronger focus on nanotechnology, "smart" fabrics and other innovations.
