A Trend is Born
Move over, Pantone. Kim Kardashian isn’t feeling your top color of spring 2014, Dazzling Blue, when it comes to daughter North West (unless new fiancé Kanye approves, of course).
In a recent interview with London’s Sunday Times, Kardashian confessed that she likes to dress baby North in light colors, including mauve or blush. “Typical baby pink” is a no-go, Kardashian said, adding that she also likes to sport lighter shades to complement her daughter’s wardrobe.
Though ratings are down for "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" (1.7 million people viewed the last episode compared to 3.6 million people in a 2012 season finale), Kim and her famous family continue to dominate headlines—even ABC News is selling out to the Kardashians with a “Celebrate Kim’s 33rd Birthday” email blast to the media yesterday, according to TMZ. So, when Kim announces her latest sartorial preference, her fans prevail over the haters and a trend is born.
Are your clients in the market for softer shades of pink? Here are a few products (found on promomarketing.com) to take them to pop-culture royalty. (Why Kanye thinks donning a T-shirt with his famous fiancé’s face plastered over it is a good idea, is another story.)
Made from cotton/spandex jersey 95/5, these leggings can be layered under skirts and dresses. They are available in mauve and a host of other colors that do not include “typical baby pink.”
