Fire Destroys Ohio Drinkware Factory
A fire destroyed the W.C. Bunting factory in East Liverpool, Ohio on Friday, Nov. 7. No injuries have been reported.
W.C. Bunting, a family-owned company that specializes in promotional drinkware and dinnerware, employs more than 30 people and has been in business for 50 years.
According to an article by WKBN, crews were called to the scene around 3 a.m. after a resident spotted the flames. After about five hours, the three-alarm fire was contained.
The fire was located on the left side of the building, where the company keeps its kilns. Patrick O'Hara, the owner of W.C. Bunting, said that flames were trapped between a drop ceiling and the building's original tin ceiling.
The company announced on its website that despite the damage to the factory, it is still making kiln-fired products on schedule, and that clients will be notified if their order's ship date will be affected.
