College Football Bowl Game Giveaways
The college football bowl games have been announced, and players and coaches are preparing for what will be, for many, the last game of the season. If that wasn't enough for the players to look forward to, the giveaways they'll receive from sponsors are impressive as well. Bleacher Report ranked some of its favorites, but here are what we think are some of the coolest college football bowl game giveaways.
Many of the gifts have to do with the game's setting. For the Arizona Bowl, players from two Western schools (University of Nevada and Colorado State University) will receive custom-tailored cowboy boots to show off in the desert.
Keeping with the Western theme, the Texas Bowl will host Texas Tech and Louisiana State universities, whose players will receive alpaca throws.
As if the University of Cincinnati and San Diego State University's football teams weren't lucky enough to play in Hawaii, the players will walk away with swim trunks. Luckily, the teams in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl got something a little better than potatoes—the players from University of Akron and Utah State University will receive Coleman two-person tents.
Rounding out geographically-themed giveaways, when Temple University faces the University of Toledo in the Boca Raton Bowl, players from both teams will receive a beach towel, beach bag, sunglasses, flip-flops and Tervis tumblers.
Many athletes have items to remember their glory days. The lucky ones have items, such as rings, to commemorate championship seasons. Players at Northwestern University and the University of Tennessee can look forward to Fossil watches, a commemorative Jostens rings and baseball caps atthe Outback Bowl.
Central Michigan University and the University of Minnesota players competing in the Quick Lane Bowl can remember exactly what they looked like at this time in their lives with a life-sized decal of themselves.
Chik-fil-A will reward players in its Peach Bowl with a commemorative football.
Continuing the trend of electronics gifts, many bowl game sponsors are giving players some high-end items.
Players in the Miami Beach Bowl, GoDaddy Bowl, Gildan New Mexico Bowl, Popeyes Bahamas Bowl and Chik-fil-A Peach Bowl all will receive portable speakers.
The Valero Alamo Bowl sponsors will reward players with Beats headphones, and the Quick Lane Bowl will give out JBL headphones.
And, lest we forget, these athletes are still college kids, so video games are appreciated. The Military Bowl presented by Nortrop Grumman will award the players at the University of Pittsburgh and U.S. Naval Academy Microsoft Xbox One with Kinect bundles.
