Starbucks' New Holiday Cups Incorporate New Colors, Personalized Gift Tags
People love Starbucks’ annual Holiday Cups. They’re sort of the first sign of the holiday season, which we guess begins as soon as you blow out the candle inside your jack-o-lantern on Halloween night.
This year’s edition came out yesterday, and has a greater emphasis on the holiday season overall, rather than just Christmas.
“It really is open to all of our customers an the way they experience the holidays,” Suzie Reecer, associate creative director for Starbucks Creative Studio, told Adweek. “We always want to be aware of how many ways people celebrate this time of year. Gifting is at the heart of every one of those holidays, and it’s just so happy. Who doesn’t love a gift?”
That means going beyond the traditional red-and-green color scheme, incorporating a wintery lilac color.
With shimmering ribbons, a splash of color and a sprinkle of stars—our new holiday cups, in four different design variations, are wrapped up like gifts for the holidays. Learn the story of how our cups came to life:https://t.co/1rxZAd7xKe

To add a personalized touch, each cup comes with a space modeled after a gift tag, where baristas or friends could write little notes for the customer.
It turns a piece of disposable drinkware into something more thoughtful and festive. It also incorporates the personalized touch of a printed product like a greeting card onto a different medium.
