Magnetic Attractions Hires National Accounts Manager
Magnetic Attractions, of Durham, N.C., added Jim Lane as its national accounts manager specializing in selling promotional magnetic product solutions to consumer goods companies. He will work closely with outside agencies, design professionals and corporate creative teams.
Helping companies gain attention and remain memorable, Magnetic Attractions delivers customized, creative magnetic promotions. Lane explained, “Magnets have a perceived, intrinsic value that make people want to hang onto them. This keeps a company’s message and offer in the front of consumers’ minds, longer. Magnets also engage two senses—sight and touch—helping to more deeply influence brand preference and purchasing behavior.”
Lane’s 12 years of sales and marketing experience includes developing regional and national retail accounts for such consumer lines as R.J. Reynolds’ Winston and Camel brands. Selling to accounts in the convenience, club and supermarket trade channels, Lane contributed to generating record-breaking sales for the cigarette manufacturer valued at more than $30 million in just three years.
Based in New Jersey, Lane received a bachelor’s degree in marketing from New York’s Syracuse University. He went on to study at Canisius College in Buffalo, N.Y., earning a master’s degree with a focus on strategic management and human resources.
