Port Washington, New York-based Dri Mark Products, the U.S. manufacturer of the original Counterfeit Money Detector Pen, announced the retail introduction of its new Counterfeit Detector System, which adds ultraviolet light to help businesses prevent counterfeit currency from entering the cash drawer. The announcement coincided with the new $100 bill introduced by the Washington-based U.S. Treasury this week.
“Adding a UV light to our Counterfeit Money Detector Pen gives cashiers a dual test to authenticate U.S. currency,” said Cathy Williams-Owen, Dri Mark Products president and chief financial officer. “The light reveals the micro-printed strip embedded in all $5 through $100 U.S. bills printed after 1996, which states the denomination in every authentic bill,” added Williams-Owen.
