CustomInk, Fairfax, Va., has acquired Represent, a Los Angeles-based online merchandise company. According to TechCrunch, CustomInk acquired Represent for close to $100 million in a cash and stock deal.
Represent, founded in 2014, allows users to create and sell apparel and accessories similarly to how CustomInk does. What sets Represent apart is that it works with celebrities, including mixed martial arts fighter Ronda Rousey and comedian Grace Helbig, who are looking to monetize their brands through merchandise. Rousey's campaign on Represent raised $2.3 million in T-shirt sales for Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services.
