BulletSafe entered the "casual bulletproof" clothing industry in 2014 with a successful Kickstarter campaign for the world's first bulletproof baseball cap. Now, the company is planning its apparel debut. According to Gizmag, BulletSafe has unveiled a bulletproof T-shirt featuring a front ballistic panel, which protects the heart and lungs.
What's the reasoning behind this new product?
"This product springs from a desire of some of our customers to have the maximum level of discretion," Tom Nardone, president of BulletSafe, said in a statement to Gizmag.
While BulletSafe is not the first company to produce a bulletproof T-shirt, its pricing makes it a competitor in the market thanks to a price tag less than $200.
Meanwhile, the company recently has started shipping its BulletSafe ball cap following the Kickstarter campaign. The ball cap retails for $129.
