Golf is, despite its difficulty, a game on par (heh) with other, more casual, outdoor activities common in the promotional products space, like cornhole or darts. So, when you're looking for clients who might be interested in golf products, don't just think of places actually relating to golf. Courses and tournaments are of course a great start, but chances are good that at least one end-user will have good use for a ball marker set or putter cover.
