Astros' Minor League Team Cancels Confident Promotion
The Fresno Grizzlies, the AAA affiliate of the Houston Astros, have built a promotional campaign around the future of the Grizzlies and Astros organization, but the team has canceled one aspect of the promotion.
According to Bleacher Report, the Grizzlies have created a "Back to the Future"-themed promotion. They unveiled uniforms modeled after the famous time-traveling DeLoreans from the movie series, and originally planned to give fans a ring commemorating the Astros' 2017 World Series victory, but now that promotion has been called off.
Mike Oz, a Fresno-based baseball blogger for Big League Stew, said that the ring giveaway was cancelled not even a full day after it was unveiled. He added that the Grizzlies said that the decision was made in order to think of a different, more Grizzlies-centric promotion. Also, they didn't want to jinx the future of their big-league affiliate.

This promotion comes after Sports illustrated predicted the Astros as the 2017 World Series champions in June.
Who knows, come 2017 when the Astros are celebrating their World Series victory (likely with some current Grizzlies players in Astros uniforms by then) the folks in Fresno could be kicking themselves for calling off the promotion.
