Apple Bends the Rules with Unofficial Olympics Merchandise
While the Olympics selected Samsung as the official mobile phone sponsor of the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Apple Inc. has no plans to sit the 2016 games out. Instead, Apple has been using an Apple Store location outside the games to promote its special-edition Apple watch bands, according to Tech2.
The company has been enticing prospective buyers with unofficial Olympics merchandise that does not feature the Olympic rings logo or the word "Olympics," which are reserved for Samsung's use only.
