Amazon Invites Prime Members to Push the Dash Button
Amazon is known for letting users buy pretty much anything they want with just a click or two, but now they’re letting customers order items without even clicking their mouse. The Dash button is a branded item that lets customers reorder their favorite household items with the push of a button.
According to Consumerist, Amazon had been testing a one-button ordering service since last fall. Now, Amazon has invited some of its Prime members to try out the new Dash for free.
The item includes an adhesive and hook, making it easy to quickly order more laundry detergent while you’re finishing up the wash, or more razors from the comfort of your own bathroom. Using the Amazon app, users select the products they want to order with the Dash, and a single push automatically places the order.
Currently, Amazon has made items available from brands, such as Glad, Clorox, Huggies, Tide, Olay, Gatorade and more. The buttons themselves are imprinted with a particular brand’s logo.
