Aldi Is Making Branded Sneakers Now

Aldi, the grocery store that has brought you tongue-in-cheek Adidas knockoff apparel and other lines of branded apparel, in addition to low-priced groceries, is entering the footwear market with a new line of sneakers.

And, true to form, they're only $13.

They're not quite the "Aldidas" that you might expect. They're more reminiscent of '80s and '90s sneakers like Reeboks, with white being the overwhelming color, but with accents of Aldi's brand aesthetic and the logo placed in the middle.

There's also a plain white pair.

The release is part of a larger spring line, which features familiar items like belt bags, sweatshirts, drinkware, and a striped pullover sweatshirt using the brand's famous stripe motif as an all-over design.

The sneakers are the standout, though, because you really can't miss that Aldi logo prominently placed on the side.

It just goes to show that every sort of company and brand can be a fashion brand if you do the decoration well. Incorporate the logo in a cool, classy way, and people will want to show them off. They become conversation pieces.

"Are those Aldi sneakers?"

They sure are.

And, while a premium footwear brand always goes over well, Aldi shows that you don't have to always break the bank.
