Nike, Under Armour Could Battle for NBA Contract as Adidas Bows Out

Adidas is out as the official uniform supplier of the National Basketball Association in 2017. After slipping from second to third in the U.S. athletic apparel arms race last year, Adidas is taking a long hard look at where it's putting marketing dollars. When the contract expires at the end of the 2016-2017 season, someone else, likely Nike or Under Armour, will take over the job of dressing players for games.

That doesn't mean Adidas won't have a presence with NBA players, though, through deals with star players that can often be even more lucrative than league deals.
