In my family, gathering to watch award shows has been something of a cult ritual since I was old enough to appreciate celebrity obsession. The Oscars, the Grammys, the Golden Globes—we sit around eating copious amounts of food, vehemently judging every performer, presenter, celebrity and security guard in sight.
