The parents of a Manhattan student, who was 7 years old when she entered a T-shirt-design contest, is suing for the rights to her design, which her parents signed away when she entered the contest, organized by clothing company LittleMissMatched.

U.S. District Court Judge Gregory Woods said that a previous decision to prevent a suit by the student was “unconscionable," according to Courthouse News.

Ralph Lauren Stepping Down as CEO, Turns Job Over to Old Navy's Stefan Larsson

The executive who was a key architect of Old Navy’s recent hot streak is leaving the company to take the helm of another apparel industry heavyweight. Stefan Larsson, Old Navy’s global brand president since 2012, has been named chief executive of Ralph Lauren, that company said Tuesday. The company’s iconic designer-founder, Ralph Lauren, remains on board as executive chairman and chief creative officer, meaning he’ll still play an influential role in shaping the aesthetic and vision of the brand, which pulled down $7.5 billion in sales last year.


The T-shirt, designed by Major League Baseball and emblazoned with the logo "The West Is Ours," features a silhouette of the Dallas skyline as the backdrop. MLB designed a series of shirts and sweatshirts for teams in the postseason featuring city skylines.

For the Rangers, headquartered in Arlington since they arrived in Texas in 1971, this presents something of an issue. Arlington doesn't feature a prominent cityscape skyline.

Trans-Pacific Partnership Trade Deal Reached

On Monday, the U.S. and 11 other Pacific Rim nations agreed to the largest regional trade accord in history, a potentially precedent-setting model for global commerce and worker standards that would tie together 40 percent of the world’s economy, from Canada and Chile to Japan and Australia.


The Trans-Pacific Partnership still faces months of debate in the U.S. Congress and will inject a new flashpoint into both party's presidential contests.

But the accord is a potentially legacy-making achievement for President Barack Obama and the capstone for his foreign policy “pivot” toward closer relations with fast-growing eastern Asia.

Atlantic Coast Cotton Adds Bella+Canvas to Its Collections

Atlantic Coast Cotton, Gainesville, Va., recently announced that it will add Bella+Canvas, Los Angeles, to its premium collections of apparel products. Bella+Canvas joins Gardena, California-based Next Level Apparel and Los Angeles-based American Apparel at Atlantic Coast Cotton.


A variety of the items on the site are sold as “fits size small,” with no other sizing options available, including the popular James Tank, which according to the site has a 12-inch bust (the material has stretch, but keep in mind that a woman wearing a 32A bra has a 32-inch bust-line).

The small sizing has outraged many women, who have spoken out against the brand on Twitter.
