Vernon Company Honors Employee Anniversary Milestones
The Vernon Company, Newton, Iowa, recently inducted seven employees into its Anniversary Milestone Clubs in recognition of their outstanding years of service to the company. Club inductees were awarded anniversary gifts and recognized by Bill Vernon, chairman, and Chris Vernon, MAS, president, at the company's annual employee recognition ceremony.
Employees were given awards for years of service in 25-, 30-, 35-, 40- and 55-year categories. Joan Hoelscher, Gale Horman and Mollie Sumner received 25-year awards. Thirty-year service award recipient was Cindy Rhoads. Sandy Zeka was recognized for 35-years of service and Vicki Cunningham received a 40-year service award.
A special milestone this year was Bill Vernon, chairman and CEO, who joined the 55 Year Club. With this achievement Bill becomes the first person in company history to celebrate 55 years of continuous service in the corporate office.
Currently there are 39 employees in the Vernon Company corporate office that have achieved their 25-year service milestone with the company. Adding retirees, that number jumps to 119 employees whose careers have spanned 25 years or more with Vernon.
The years-of-service clubs were started in 1971 by William F. Vernon, Sr. to honor Vernon employees for their outstanding careers and dedication to the company.
