Utah High School Presents Graduating Class with Misspelled Medal
Weber School District spokesman Nate Taggart spoke with the Ogden Standard-Examiner, echoing Thayne’s sentiment. “It certainly doesn’t overshadow an otherwise nice event and a great accomplishment,” Taggart said. “It’s just one of those little extras that students get at graduation.”
The medallions were a part of the $58 graduation package that also included a gown (rental), cap, tassel and diploma. They were provided by Jostens, a Minneapolis-based company that produces school rings, yearbooks and diplomas that the school has worked with for some time. While Jostens provided the packages, the medal was not the company’s product, but rather sourced from another manufacturer.
