It is with great sadness that Cleveland-based Proforma faces the loss of John Vento, one of the earliest Proforma owners. Vento joined the Proforma Family in October of 1988. For more than 20 years, he played an active role in the company, becoming a member of Proforma’s first Million Dollar Club, the first member of Proforma’s Multi-Million Dollar Club and serving as a pioneer for the Proforma owner Advisory Council (OAC). Through his dedication and steadfast commitment to the company, he became a beloved friend and trusted advisor to Proforma founder, Greg Muzzillo.
“John provided me with sound advice during some key developmental years in Proforma’s history. In some ways, he was like a second father to me,” said Muzzillo. “Our hearts, prayers and sympathies are with the Vento family, as they mourn the loss of their husband, father, grandfather and friend. John will truly be missed.”
Vento turned to Proforma after serving as a senior executive at the Burroughs Corp. for 30 years. He had little experience of the industry and no customers, but was able to quickly grow a successful business which set a high precedent for other owners to follow.
His wife, Angela and three sons, Joseph, Paul, and John Jr. “Jay,” all held various positions with Proforma. Angela worked hard to plan Proforma’s Million Dollar Club trips, Joe assisted in the New Owner Development Department at the Cleveland-based Support Center, Paul is a member of Proforma’s Million Dollar Club and Jay is a member of Proforma’s Multi-Million Dollar Club and was Proforma’s Top Biller for several years.
Vento is survived by his wife and sons, as well as six loving grandchildren, John III, Gianna, Nicole, Peter, Danielle and Brandon.
