Pittsburgh-based Pro Towels has recently implemented a company care campaign. This campaign was created for employees to acknowledge the value their peers bring to the company on a daily basis.
"Peer-to-peer recognition has just as much of an impact as if it were coming from the top down," said Stacey Fleming, human resources at Pro Towels. "Your peers know what you do on a day-to-day basis, so when your efforts are appreciated from another department in the company, the impact is much more meaningful."
The company care campaign focuses on recognizing specific results and behaviors in the following areas: teamwork, effort, quality, attitude and leadership. Cards with these acknowledgements on them will be distributed to all employees. Over the next nine months, employees are asked to send a card to someone within the company, from top management to someone that they may not know personally that encompasses its behavior. "With having facilities all across the country, this is great opportunity to show appreciation in a more personal way," said Tonya Cochran, creative director at Pro Towels.
