Picnic Plus Expands Client Services by Doubling Distribution Facilities and Administration Headquarters
Picnic Plus by Spectrum, West Chester, Pa., is planning to double its capacity to service clients and "green" its operations by moving to a new facility. The new facility is located at 901 South Bolmar Street, Suite G, West Chester, PA, and will allow Picnic Plus by Spectrum to continue to expand their product line. The expected move date is scheduled for March 18.
"Our company has experienced steady growth in its 12 years of operation," said Daniel Berkowitz, president of Picnic Plus by Spectrum. "We were able to find a new facility, more than doubling our size, that we have tailored to significantly improve energy efficiency and reduce our operations costs."
"Just as important, our employee team has been a critical part of our capacity to earn double-digit increases in the past years, and we are very happy to make this move and still maintain our employee base," Berkowitz added. "By finding a location only five miles from the current one, we don't have to inconvenience them or dramatically increase their commutes."
"Our new facility will meet and exceed new efficiency standards, by having all offices and common areas on motion-activated lights, replacing the expensive metal halide lights in our warehouse with new fluorescent fixtures. We have designed our new warehouse layout with three separate work areas, and put in plenty of windows, taking advantage of the natural sunlight rather than adding in more artificial lighting. Ceiling fans throughout will also reduce our HVAC expenses," explained Berkowitz.
Picnic Plus by Spectrum has increased its product line with over 140 new items this year, many of them focusing on "home entertaining," serving both the indoor and outdoor markets. The company now offers more year-round sales opportunities to distributors with a broader assortment of products.
