Past SAAGNY President, Lenore Goldberg Dies
With great regret and sadness, we announce the passing of Lenore Goldberg of Premiums Plus, Fort Lee, N.J. Lenore served the industry and SAAGNY well during her years in the industry. As a SAAGNY volunteer, she started on the bottom rung and worked her way through the ranks to serve as SAAGNY president. Lenore was elected to the SAAGNY Board in 2000 and served as director, secretary, treasurer, vice president, president-elect and president in 2005-2006. During her term as president and as immediate past president Lenore dealt with several difficult and sometimes controversial events, always retaining her graciousness and fairness through many long deliberations. “Lenore set the standard for leadership and we will continue to strive to maintain that level of integrity and fair-mindedness,” said Jonathan Riegel, CAS, SAAGNY president.
A member of several committees, Lenore chaired programs and meetings and the membership committee. She was instrumental in developing the “New and Not So New” program to welcome new members which is now SAAGNY’s Ambassador program. Lenore was a strong supporter of The SAAGNY Foundation and its many charitable events and programs, and served as a Foundation Trustee. The SAAGNY Foundation will be naming their annual golf outing in her memory.
Lenore was also a founding member of The Knesset, a long-running distributor group. An avid golfer, Lenore was especially proud of her three holes-in-one and was the recipient of several outstanding golfer awards.
A strong advocate for SAAGNY and the promotional products industry, Lenore will be fondly remembered by all who knew her and the many volunteers she mentored. “She was a good friend and a beautiful person and an asset to our industry,” stated Mike Schenker, MAS, Chair, SAAGNY Council of Past Presidents. “Her steering of SAAGNY helped strengthen the organization and her direction of PROMOTIONS EAST helped maintain its status as the leading show in the Northeast.”
She leaves behind her beloved husband Stanley, daughters Joyce and Allison, grandsons Jason and Aaron, her mother and sister Marilyn, who shared Lenore’s love of classical music.
The family asks that donations be made through www.melanoma.org.
