Pacific Line Achieves Minority Owner Status
Pacific Line by Frank Lee Imports, Baldwin Park, Calif., announced today that it has achieved certification as a Minority Business Enterprise with the Southern California Minority Business Development Council (SMBDC) in the state of California. This certification gives Pacific Line the opportunity to partner with companies requiring supplier diversity.
"This certification marks a milestone for Pacific Line as it results in vendor approval with U.S. corporations that have active supplier-diversity programs," said Doug Lee, vice president of marketing at Pacific Line by Frank Lee Imports. "We are proud to be part of a distinguished group of minority-owned businesses that make California and the United States flourish economically."
SMBDC, along with all National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) affiliates, provide minority business certification, a process that adheres to the NMSDC's strict guidelines, making certification of men and women ethnic minority-owned businesses one of the most internationally accepted minority business certifications.
Minority business certification is the process that a business enterprise claiming to be a minority-owned business must undergo to verify that the company is at least 51 percent owned by a minority or group of minorities that are United States citizens, and that the business is owned, managed and operated on a daily basis by the minority or group of minority owners. Major corporations include supplier diversity as a core business strategy, and use certification as a tool to validate and seek qualified minority businesses.
