Mohawk Chairman/CEO to Speak at Ernst & Young Strategic Growth Forum
Thomas D. O'Connor Jr., Chairman/CEO of Mohawk, Cohoes, N.Y., North America's largest privately owned manufacturer of fine papers and envelopes, was selected to join the panel, "Entrepreneurs: How Purpose and Stewardship Contribute To Success" Nov. 15 at Ernst & Young Strategic Growth Forum in Palm Springs, Calif.
O'Connor will join the country's top CEOs and executives in a discussion about their personal sense of purpose and stewardship as part of their path to success.
“Mr. O’Connor is clearly a perfect candidate to speak about entrepreneurs building a successful enterprise and leaving a legacy, as this year Mohawk celebrates its 82-year heritage," Bryan Pearce, Americas director, Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, said. “Mohawk is recognized for embracing innovation and seizing opportunities as they arise and we look forward to hearing his insights at the 2013 Ernst & Young Strategic Growth Forum."
Now in its seventh year, this forum is the most prestigious, invitation-only business executives' event, which sells out with more than 2,000 of the nation’s top CEOs, entrepreneurs, advisors, investors and other senior business leaders attending. This year's guest list includes David M. Rubenstein, The Carlyle Group's co-founder and co-CEO; Jeffrey R. Immelt, General Electric's chairman and CEO; Bernard J. Tyson, Kaiser Permanente's CEO; and Hamdi Ulukaya, Chobani Inc.'s founder, president and CEO. Jay Leno, Sally Field, Michael J. Fox, Pat Riley, Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf also are scheduled to make an appearance or present keynotes and sessions.
