MediaTree Gives Back by Supporting Community Soup Kitchen
In the In the spirit of Thanksgiving, Parsippany, New Jersey-based MediaTree team members came to the aid of those in need by hosting a holiday food drive for the local Community Soup Kitchen, located in Morristown, New Jersey.
Team members combined their efforts for the benefit of feeding the homeless and financially less fortunate community for Thanksgiving. Over the course of the food drive, MediaTree team members donated a total of 250 pounds of non-perishable food items and ready-to-eat meals. The Community Soup Kitchen’s food distribution and nutrition program serves more than 2,000 working poor, elderly, homeless and low-income families yearly.
The Community Soup Kitchen’s assistant director, Lois Nichols, was very grateful for the donations. “With MediaTree’s help, we have served nearly 30,000 meals so far in 2010,” said Nichols.
“It always feels good to give back, especially this time of year,” said Jillian Riegger, MediaTree account manager. “It’s like food for the soul and I’m genuinely happy to do it.”
The Community Soup Kitchen was founded 25 years ago and has since grown into a multi-service agency offering a wide range of services, including an outreach center.
Commenting on the holiday food drive, MediaTree president Rob Watson expressed his appreciation for the team member efforts stating, “I am so proud of this team initiative. We look forward to future opportunities to be helpful to the community we live and work--it’s an amazing feeling to work among so many generous and giving individuals.”
