It's no surprise that people are willing to pay this kind of surcharge for name-brand goods. Balenciaga charged $595 for a pair of Bernie Sanders-branded pool slides. And, a Gucci collaboration with Paramount featured T-shirts selling for $590.
While social media commentators might troll Louis Vuitton for the ridiculously priced earbuds, the company is laughing all the way to the bank. People are willing to pay big bucks to sport these luxury brands, no matter what the logo is on. Just look at this $735 dry cleaning bag dress Moschino released two years ago. Louis Vuitton has always been a champion of the logo, and with Logomania continuing to gain in popularity, there's no reason the company shouldn't create an array of branded goods.
