Geiger Family Feud?
At Geiger’s annual summer event in the company’s home base of Lewiston, Maine, 14 teams of Geiger associates—more than 70 people—participated in a game of Geiger Family Feud. Questions were based both on company beliefs and a company-wide survey taken the prior week. “Our annual summer event is held in appreciation of the hard work of our associates,” explained Laura Bosse, director of human resources for Geiger. “It provides an opportunity for associates to share a luncheon, to mix and mingle with people from other departments, and most of all, to have some fun,” added Bosse.
“Some of the questions related directly to Geiger—an opportunity to reinforce some of our values, benefits, etc., and some were about the individuals—an opportunity to learn more about the collective work group at Geiger,” explained Bosse. “The survey connected the audience to the participants in a special way. Some of the answers were surprising, some funny.”
The two winning teams were: “The Gets-It Family” of Total Care, which included Rosey Maxim, Maddie Campbell, Jenica Barry, Rob Kilgore and Mona Alexander; and “The Makers Family” of Manufactured Products, which included Shaun Briggs, Mark Morel, Laura Ames, Paul Therriault and Paul Balsamo.
