Given the times, it's comforting to learn of any efforts to help out. All Elite Wrestling performers Cody Rhodes and Chris Jericho are doing their part by issuing T-shirts whose proceeds will assist a pair of COVID-19 relief funds.
With so much confusion stemming from the spread of the virus and the presence of price gouging as items disappear from stores, the United Way’s COVID-19 Family Support Fund and the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 Response Fund can feel a bit better about their missions thanks to the aforementioned athletes.
With respect to Rhodes, he and Pro Wrestling Tees tag-teamed to come up with a $24.99 T-shirt that uses a logo that he uses to bill himself as The American Nightmare. COVID-19 has thus far proven a global nightmare, so sending along all of the garment’s proceeds to the United Way could make a respectable difference as the nation plots its response to the disease.

Jericho will also be playing a part through another $24.99 T-shirt that, unlike the other apparel item, contains directives for those who purchase it. Declaring “Wash Your Hands, Cover Your Mouth, Shut Your Ass,” the final element of which is a common saying by the decorated wrestler, the product has drawn more than 28,000 likes on Instagram, with many commenters applauding the efforts.
It is tough to think of any area of life that the coronavirus situation has not touched, including the promotional products industry, which relies on the sports world for a good amount of its success. Therefore, though sports, for the most part, have gone on an indefinite hiatus, those whose livelihoods depend on their athletic prowess are giving us reminders that though there is always the possibility that something can suppress their ability to perform, nothing can pin them down when they ponder a concept that can show compassion for the less fortunate.
