Governor Cuomo has proposed to bring a ban over the sale of children's products treated with Tris. Scientists have linked the chemical with cancer. It is believed that if the chemicals come in contact with children, it could trigger cancer.
It has come to light that the proposed ban will come for the first time in 2013. The chemical is used in large quantity in the production of toys, car seats, crib mattresses, and strollers. However in 1977, a ban was imposed upon the use of Tris on clothes. The ban was imposed by the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
