The West Hollywood City Council has unanimously approved the first reading of an ordinance that prohibits the sale of fur apparel products in the City of West Hollywood. The City Council also gave direction to the City Attorney to amend the ordinance to include an implementation date of June 30, 2012 and explore the possibility of providing an exemption for vintage clothing stores that sell fur apparel. The ordinance is one of the first its kind in the United States.
