I heard whisperings of this many weeks ago, but was hesitant to believe it. Superior Uniform Group Inc., manufacturer of uniforms, career apparel and accessories, recently announced that for the second quarter ended June 30, 2013, sales were $30,854,000, compared with 2012 second quarter sales of $29,335,000. Net earnings were $1,438,000 or $0.23 per share (diluted), compared with earnings of $977,000 or $0.16 per share (diluted) in the 2012 second quarter.

Cintas Corporation this week reported results for its fourth quarter and full year ended May 31, 2013. Revenue for the fourth quarter was $1.13 billion, representing a 7.2 percent increase compared to last year's fourth quarter. Full year revenue was a record $4.32 billion, a 5.2 percent increase from the prior fiscal year.

Superior Uniform Group announced that its first quarter earnings more than tripled, with profits of $1,229,000 compared with $327,000 for the first quarter in 2012. Net sales for the 2013 first quarter were $30,985,000, an 8.7 percent increase over 2012's first quarter sales of $28,508,000.

LifeApps Digital Media Inc., a new media company focused on the sports, health, fitness and entertainment markets, has acquired apparel supplier Sports One Group. Terms of the deal, which was effective as of April 1, were not disclosed.
