There has been pressure in recent years to remove the logo because of its insensitivity to Native Americans.
"We do have empathy for those who take issue with it," said Dolan. "We have minimized the use of it and we'll continue to do what we think is appropriate."
The logo still will be part of the Indians uniform, and team apparel with Chief Wahoo still remains a top-seller for merchandise. For now, Chief Wahoo will remain a secondary logo for the Cleveland Indians.
