While the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has granted a one-year stay on testing and certification until 2010, Bodek and Rhodes has announced their dedication to social responsibility by requiring safety and fair labor statements from all of its suppliers.
In August of 2008, the CPSC created the CPSIA. Primarily concerned with the safety of children's products in regards to hazardous substances and flammability, the CPSIA enhances and clarifies product safety laws in the U.S. This law also governs some wearable items and requires imported products to prove adherence to CPSC safety regulations with a General Conformity Certificate.
