4 Chunks of Selling Time Left
Every once in a while, I crank out either a sales tip or a blog that might seem repetitive to frequent readers. I’m not being lazy. It’s just that the calendar lines up perfectly sometimes and I think there is value in making a salient point a second or third or fourth time.
This is one of those times.
Here is my suggested plan for the remainder of 2020:
Step one: Jan. 4, 2021 is the first business day of the new year. Spend some time with a blank pad of paper and a pen, writing out your vision of where you want to be that day. Get as detailed as you can.
Step two: There are four full weeks between today (Oct. 26, 2020) and the week that includes Thanksgiving. Make a sales plan for that chunk of time. How many calls could you make? What kind of goals could you set?
Step three: Consider the week of Thanksgiving. You are likely not traveling. So, how best to use those three days? What kinds of activities could you participate in that would help your sales? Perhaps you could learn your CRM better. Maybe there is some marketing materials you could put together.
Step four: There are three full weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Part of your step three task should be to come up with a plan for that chunk of time. What kinds of conversations could you have with existing customers regarding 2021, for example?
Step five: Both Christmas and New Year’s are on Fridays. What could you do with the days in between them? Perhaps you could do a technology check. Or maybe you can learn more about LinkedIn.
Achieving the vision you have for the first business day of the new year starts with a lot of planning. What I just described is not a lot of work and it will set you up for success in 2021
